Frequently asked questions
I don't know whether I need therapy or coaching. How do I decide?
This is a very common question, and it’s something we can think through together in the initial consultation. In general, therapy is often more helpful if you want space to explore emotions, patterns, or past experiences, while coaching is more practical and forward-focused. Sometimes the right fit becomes clearer once we talk.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a conversation rather than a formal assessment. We’ll talk about what has brought you here, what you’re finding difficult, and what you’re hoping for from the work. There is no pressure to have everything figured out in advance.
How often would we meet?
Most people begin with weekly sessions, though some prefer fortnightly sessions over time. We can agree on an approach that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
Do I need a diagnosis to access neurodivergent coaching?
No. A formal diagnosis is not necessary. Many of the people I work with are self-identified or still exploring this part of themselves. What matters most is your lived experience and whether this way of working feels relevant and supportive for you.
What if I need to cancel?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice wherever possible. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged in full.
Do you offer reduced fee sessions?
I hold a small number of reduced-fee spaces for those experiencing financial hardship. You are very welcome to mention this when you get in touch.
